ILCP Announced as the Official Conservation Photography Partner at Wildscreen Festival 2020 - Virtual Edition.
TUESDAY 11 AUGUST, BRISTOL, UK
Wildscreen, the UK-based not-for-profit conservation organisation behind the Wildscreen Festival and the International League of Conservation Photographers (iLCP), the U.S.-based not-for-profit organisation of professional conservation photographers and filmmakers, has today announced that they will be partnering on the photography content for the virtual edition of the Festival this coming October.
Following a successful collaboration at the Wildscreen Festival 2018, the two not-for-profits are once again working together to deliver a packed programme of thought-leader keynotes, professional development masterclasses, panel sessions and unrivalled networking opportunities for the international wildlife and conservation photography industry. Photography has been embedded into the DNA of the event since 2016.
2020 also marks the 15th anniversary of iLCP and fittingly the Wildscreen Festival 2020 will kick-off it’s photography content with a keynote from the iLCP’s founding Executive Director, CRISTINA MITTERMEIER. A National Geographic photographer, co-founder of SeaLegacy and a multi-award-winning conservation photographer, Cristina was recognised as one of the most Influential Women in Ocean Conservation in 2018 by Ocean Geographic. A special anniversary virtual photography exhibition of iLCP photographers work will also be launched during the Festival week.
Other programme highlights will include a panel session addressing diversity in conservation photography, a masterclass on the business side of the craft and portfolio reviews by some of the world’s leading photo editors and commissioners.
Lucie Muir, CEO of Wildscreen said: "In a year of extraordinary events, with our brilliant teams truly collaborating oceans apart, we are thrilled to be working with iLCP to deliver a powerful and practical programme that will inspire, support and challenge the international wildlife photography industry."
Susan Norton, Executive Director of iLCP said: "As iLCP celebrates its 15th anniversary, we are delighted once again to partner with Wildscreen - the gold standard in global gatherings celebrating the best in visual storytelling. This virtual Festival will allow our organizations to reach a larger number of storytellers around the globe".
Wildscreen Festival takes place from 19-23 October and tickets are currently on sale for £125 full price and £50 concessions, at: www.wildscreen.org/festival/tickets/
