Technical Advisor, Blue Ventures
With fifteen years’ experience in community-based marine resource governance and management, Gildas has supported communities in Madagascar, Myanmar, Mozambique, Cameroon and The Philippines through the complicated process of Marine Protected Area design, implementation, management and evaluation. A communication graduate he also excels in fostering behaviour change through the use of community based social marketing techniques. Gildas previously worked for Blue Ventures between 2006 and 2015 playing a leading role in the early development of the Locally Marine Management Areas approach in Madagascar and the national LMMA network. After 6 years with the Zoological Society of London as a Technical Specialist linking community social and economic development with marine conservation and climate adaptation, he rejoined Blue Ventures as a Technical Advisor in governance and capacity building to provide support globally.
