Environmental Storytellers Programme

Throughout 2026 we’re partnering with production companies and environmental storytelling focused organisations across the UK to host ten paid traineeship opportunities through the Wildscreen Environmental Storytellers Programme.

The programme is supporting UK based 18-30 year olds from underrepresented backgrounds hoping to pursue careers in natural world storytelling, supporting them to get paid experience within the TV, Conservation and Storytelling sectors.

Kindly supported by the John Lewis Partnership Foundation, we are working with organisations to diversify natural world storytelling and support young people to take their first steps within the industry.

Wildscreen's Environmental Storytellers Programme is a 2026 scheme to support UK based 18-30 year olds from underrepresented backgrounds hoping to pursue careers in natural world storytelling, enabling them to get paid experience within the TV, Conservation and Storytelling sectors.

The Environmental Storytellers Programme is kindly supported by the John Lewis Partnership Foundation.

Traineeships will be hosted throughout 2026 both at Wildscreen and natural world storytelling focused organisations across the UK. Applications will be open for each individual role and, when open, will be listed on this page.

Unfortunately to be eligible to apply, you must be based in the UK and have the right to work in the UK.

Unfortunately the scope of the funding supporting this programme is only for the UK and we are unable support organisations to host a trainee if they are based outside the UK.

Festival Comms Trainee

NatureStory Community Outreach Officer

We are looking for a Community Outreach Officer to deliver the next stage of the NatureStory Young Creators Programme in Bristol. This role will focus on building strong, ongoing relationships with local community organisations and supporting young people to develop digital storytelling skills through regular, in-person engagement.

Wildscreen Storytelling Internship Scheme

Throughout 2023/24 we collaborated with production companies and NGOs globally to host twelve paid internship opportunities through the Wildscreen Storytelling Internship Scheme.

The programme supported 18-35 year olds hoping to pursue careers in natural world storytelling, supporting them to get paid experience within the TV and Conservation sectors.

Delivered in partnership with WWF-UK, we worked with organisations globally to diversify natural world storytelling and Conservation.
