Pre-Selectors Announced

We are excited to share our panel of pre-selectors who will be involved in the first round of judging the Wildscreen Official Selection competition as part of the Festival’s 40th Anniversary edition.

The 30 pre-selectors hail from over 10 countries across the globe and the panel is inclusive of underrepresented voices in the industry we are striving to platform. They also reflect the diversity of storytelling experience, with experienced Natural History producers, conservationists, teachers, researchers and camera operators.

The pre-selectors are instrumental in viewing all of our entries and presenting a shortlist of stories to our incredible programmer team who curate the 2022 Official Selection.

Wildscreen’s Official Selection

The Official Selection will provide a global launchpad for 35 productions from a diverse range of filmmakers who will each receive a laurel, certificate and unique sustainably-sourced trophy. Also up for grabs are a Programmer Prize and Audience Award which will grant a unique laurel and £2,000 and £1,000 cash prizes respectively. One production which demonstrates innovative sustainable practices behind the scenes will be recognised with a Sustainable Merit.

The final date for short film, feature film or emerging technology submissions is 12 May on our FilmFreeway page.

Selected productions will be screened as part of the first ever hybrid Wildscreen Festival from 10-14 October and will be available to stream online for 3 months via the online Festival platform.
